Germany’s DAX closed about 0.7% down at 23,887 on Friday, the lowest in a week, extending losses from the prior day, amid lingering global economic uncertainty following the reopening of the US government.
Investors also continued to worry about high technology valuations and massive investment plans in AI. Meanwhile, the earnings season is nearing its end.
Pharmaceutical and agrochemical company Bayer, the worst performer, corrected some of their weekly gains, falling 5.1%.
Banks and tech companies also posted solid losses.
