Tariff Turmoil Didn’t Stop EU-US Trade From Hitting Record High Last Year

Political tensions and heightened tariffs could have tanked trade between the European Union and the United States last year, but a new study reveals that the bilateral exchange of goods and services actually reached a record high in 2025.

According to data released Friday by the German Economic Institute, known as IW, EU-U.S. trade hit $1 trillion in spite of both geopolitical and economic headwinds.
